The United Nations Interagency Working Group on the Social and Solidarity Economy (UNTFSSE) aims to increase the visibility of the Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE) within the United Nations system and outside it. The members and observers of the Working Group have committed to collaborative activities to:

• increase recognition of the role of SSE companies and organizations in sustainable development;
• promote knowledge of the SSE and consolidate SSE networks;
• support the establishment of an institutional and regulatory environment conducive to SSE;
• ensure coordination of international efforts, and create and strengthen partnerships.

The activity of the Working Group takes the form of joint initiatives among its members: preparing reports and summaries, organizing SSE-related events in relation to relevant United Nations processes and conferences, and building partnerships and dialogues with entities. governments and civil society.
