Organization of the United Regions (ORU-FOGAR)

Local and Regional Governments and their associations Organizer (partner)

Based on the concepts of territorial cohesion and territorial approach to development, a large number of regions and 17 networks of regions from all continents are members of ORU, which now has more than 900 member regions and federated states. The United Regions Organization seeks to make the voice of the regions heard, so that intermediate governments are taken into account in global governance, promoting interregional cooperation. To do this, ORU has implemented some thematic working groups to help address some of the greatest challenges on the planet: Food Security, Sustainable Development, the Post-2015 Agenda and Cultural Diversity.
